Breakfast and lunch is organised ‘restaurant style’
but, in the evening, guests dine together at communal
tables so they can compare notes on what they have
seen during the day. Of course, if you would prefer a
more intimate experience, that can be arranged, too.
Community tours and excursions
Travel can be richer when you have the chance to find
out about the daily lives of people who live in the area
you are visiting. And this is certainly true of Ulusaba.
To facilitate this, there are several community tours
and excursions: a tour of the Justicia Village which has
a cultural emphasis, as well as a ‘day in the life’ village
tour, which looks at some of the charitable projects and
schemes that Ulusaba is actively involved in.
For a more ‘hands on’ activity, book the ‘It’s Child’s
Play’ excursion. Here, you will have the opportunity to
share your skills and teach local children anything from
new songs to arithmetic and letters of the alphabet.
The community tours and excursions are organised
by Pride ‘n Purpose, Ulusaba’s charitable arm. The aim of
its work is to empower people to help themselves and
promote sustainable development. Any expenses are
funded by Ulusaba and Virgin Unite, so all money raised
goes towards improving the conditions for local people.
