Getting to Ulusaba
Ulusaba is approximately a 1 hour 20 minute flight by
twin-engine aircraft from Johannesburg International
Airport (also known as OR Tambo International Airport)
and just 30 minutes from Kruger Mpumalanga
International Airport (KMIA) in Nelspruit.
If the journey is tiring, don’t worry, because when
you arrive you will be able to relax in style and comfort
at one of the two main lodges. Rock Lodge is perched
high on the summit of a koppie (rocky hill) and includes
Ulusaba’s newest addition, Cliff Lodge, while just 0.5km
away, Safari Lodge is positioned on the bank of the dry
Mabrak riverbed. Many guests choose to split their stay
between the two lodges, enabling them to keep the
same Ranger and Tracker throughout their visit.
Apart from twice-daily game drives and a daily walk
in the Bush with a Ranger and Tracker, you will need to
plan your days well if you want to make the most of the
facilities available at Ulusaba.
Of course, you could spend all your spare time sun-
bathing by the pool or chilling out at one of the Aroma
Boma Beauty Treatment Centres. However, the more
active among you might also like to play tennis on the
floodlit court or work out at one of the gyms. The less
active, though, may prefer to visit the wine cellar at
Safari Lodge or go star gazing at the observatory, which
is hidden away in the Bush. The management can also
arrange wildlife or scenic tours, including helicopter trips.
Dining out takes on a whole new meaning here at
Ulusaba. You can choose to dine by candlelight, firelight
