How the renovation process works
Following a preliminary meeting, the renovation of your
property begins with a design brief, which originates
with you, the client. Depending on the amount of time
or input you are able to commit to, the brief could
be simply an explanation of your preferred use of the
space – the way you live or would like to live.
‘At this stage the aim is to appreciate your personal
style or taste,’ Deborah asserts. ‘And, obviously, we
want to understand fully the scope of works required.’
Subsequent feasibility studies help to establish a
preliminary budget and schedule – and also indicate
the level of consultants required for the project.
Once your requirements are properly understood,
Base Interior is quick to apply for necessary permissions.
‘All homeowners require some form of consent for
anything other than decorative alterations, whether it is
a building notice from the local council or a full planning
